Your Trademark or Logo
Do some research to see if your company name, trademark or logo is original. Is it already
being used? There are 2 major problems if it is. The first, your product, and page will be lost in
the masses. If your one of 5000 businesses with the same basic name how can you stand out in the
crowd? Avoid a legal battle and check to see if your company name is already in use. If there are
no legitimate trademarks consider registering the name you've chosen as a trademark. That way you
can defend your ownership of it in the future.
You may want to consider using a trademark attorney and commissioning a full trademark search.
This can be expensive and time consuming, but it may save you more in the long run.

Use tiff instead. The change to jpg or another space saving
file format can be saved for the last version of the image.

About Photography
If your doing your own photography learn about color. You must know about the color
of white. Learn about the white balance features of your camera. Digital cameras make
photography seem very easy, until you try to match a color or harder still make the image in
"black and white".
Use the largest image size you can to start. Do not use jpg file format for your
images until just before web publishing. Every save in jpg degrades the image. In as few as 8
saves your beautiful photo can begin to look 'quilted'. This will happen even if you made NO
changes in the image.

Copyright comonly designated by the symbol © is in most countries based on the international
Berne convention. This treaty states that any work is coprighted at the moment of creation. In the
United States prior to 1988 authors had to register their work with the Copyright Office before
they could get protection for their work.
It is still beneficial to have your work registered with the Copyright office and this can be
done is large batches rather than piece by piece. Photographers often register an entire year of
images at one time. This is because registration allows you to sue for punitive damages,
and attorney's fees insted of only for actual damages. In the US the effective life of a
copyright is for the life of the author plus 75 years.
